Lulu Carpenter adds coffee delivery to the menu.
Lulu Carpenter’s Pacific Avenue cafe opened in January 1992. It was the first business to reopen on Pacific Avenue after the 1989 earthquake, and for many years, it felt like it might be the last. It’s in a beautiful brick building built in 1865, by a soldier in John Fremont’s Western Command. Lulu Carpenter owned a millinery and dress shop there mid-century. Today, it serves as the Lulu anchor store and houses the Kitchen at Lulu Carpenter’s. The quaint cafe serves pastries, lunch, brunch, and hand-crafted beverages for the coffee connoisseur.
